Our initial program is for veterans currently residing in Castle Rock, Colorado, whether they’re starting a personal project or their own business. Both free and paid hosting plans follow that local eligibility requirement. We’ll share the full verification process before enrollment opens.
Is the free website really free?
That’s the plan. Veteran Start will provide one website within the free allocation, including a SpiderHosting subdomain. A custom domain costs extra if you want one. Optional PayPal contributions will help support the mission, but contributing will never be required to receive the free hosting allocation.
Do I have to move my email or domain?
No. Website hosting, email, domain registration and DNS are separate choices. You can keep your current email provider and domain registrar. If you keep your own DNS provider, we’ll give you the specific website records to change while preserving your email configuration.
Will my website and email be backed up?
Customer website content and mailbox messages won’t be backed up by default. Separate paid nightly website and email backup services are planned, with scope, retention and price shown before you opt in. A free manual website export is also part of the plan.
What kinds of websites can I host?
The pilot will focus on managed websites for personal projects and veteran-owned businesses. It won’t provide a virtual server or root access. Phishing, malware, unauthorized hacking, spam, illegal material and sexually explicit hosting won’t be permitted. Full terms and acceptable-use rules will be available for review before account activation.
When can I sign up?
Enrollment is coming soon; we haven’t announced an opening date. We’re preparing the platform and will begin with a small group of local veterans. This preview doesn’t create accounts, accept payments or collect a waitlist. You can email Curtis with questions in the meantime.
